Welcome back to your favorite blog about filmmaking and cinematography. Today, we are kicking off our new series – the 🎬Good Movie Club🍿. This club is obviously not about new, shallow movies with bad scripts that promote the erosion of values that have been presented to us repeatedly in recent years. It's about great movies from the past that were well made and fun to watch. More than deserving of a rewatch!
You know what sounds like an interesting job? Being a Production Assistant for good movies. I find the movie-making process fascinating. Of course, it depends on the project. If I had only carried one cable during the making of 'La La Land', I would have been very happy. What an amazing end result! 😃✨
Imagine, there was a 'La La Land' concert in London, an orchestra playing the soundtrack at the Royal Albert Hall! One time only. It was around Christmas and I was in Germany - so I missed it! Can you believe it?! I say 'La La Land' needs to become a musical. It needs a stage adaptation by experts who 1000% get it. And I need to buy the first ticket. 🎟️

While you are working on a movie, you can never be quite sure how good the final result will actually be. I sometimes think about that. It’s almost like a gamble for everyone involved, including the actors who signed up for it. Because even if the script is good, you don’t get to edit it and you will still be part of it, however it turns out.
To me, it is captivating to see how movies are made. I recently stumbled upon a 'Making of' video for the first and in my opinion best one in the 'Transformers' film series, which is unlisted on YouTube! So without this blog - you would have never found it. 😊 💁🏼♀️ Do you, by any chance, have two hours to spare? That’s how long this video is. Super interesting and action packed! 💥
Personally, I could have done without the military aspect, but it was included in the storyline too. Michael Bay was the director and it looks like he had a clear and grand vision for this movie that turned out really well. Even now, the visual effects are on another level. 'Transformers' was released in 2007.
We can also see Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox in their breakout roles. It’s like time travel, really. Also, the fact that so many scenes were filmed on a real set and not created on the computer, I think that’s the part that makes the whole process so exciting. It’s lively, energetic - a real team effort. Check it out below!

If you loved Knives Out like we did (but only the first one - the other two we won’t even mention) and also have a soft spot for Babe the speaking piglet, t his film was made for you! It is set in Denbrook a small picturesque town in the Irish countryside, where people still live a more traditional, analog life - like our main character, George the shepherd. He is frequently reading whodunit stories to his sheep. When someone on this movie poster gets eliminated in a mysterious way, the sheep set out to solve the mystery. This movie is out in cinemas now and, depending on your location, might be available on Prime Video. Given the lack of good new (family friendly) movies these days, we just had to recommend this one. 🐑 S uitable for ages 6 and up. After watching it, we must say a few unanswered questions remain. Bernd Das Brot & Ivonne The Editor Once again we bring you unique content, because who else but us would write a feature article about a grumpy piece of bread that goes by the name of 'Bernd'. Only we do this internationally. :) The notoriously low spirited piece of dough, is famous in Germany for his TV Show ' Bernd Das Brot '. It is about him, being as grumpy as a loaf can get. photo: AP/ Thüringer Allgemeine To honor him, there is even a 2 meter tall statue of his likeness, located in the city center of Erfurt, Germany since 2007. In 2009 this statue made headlines when an anonymous group abducted Bernd from his regular spot. A few weeks after that, he was found by police in a basement nearby. Hello dear readers! In this presentation, you will hear how the US population was influenced online during the time leading up to the 2016 election. Surprisingly open, Alexander Nix former CEO of British company Cambridge Analytica gave us an insight on what is possible in regards to - allegedly - manipulating hundreds of thousands of people by using personal data. After watching this, in conclusion we would like to say: 'Thank you for your input or maybe not?' And if you now think - well that was recorded in Germany in 2017, we can only reply by saying, we are sharing this with you better late than never because what else are we gonna do on a weekend in isolation?!
