>> Straight Outta Quarantine: Short Trip To The Baltic Sea! 🏖️ Ausflug An Die Ostsee!!

Image
Hello everybody! This short family trip was really more of a spontaneous idea. The Ostsee or Baltic Sea is one of the favorite vacation destinations for us Germans. And as probably everyone else on this planet - I really REALLY needed a break from the lockdown life and constant stream of negative information. So we took the car. Honestly because I don't have a drivers license and the autobahn has no speed limit I felt like I took part in a Formula 1 race I had not signed up for.. :) I am more used to trains or the subway you know. After several hours, we reached our destination. Our place was really just 5 minutes from the beach and had a balcony. The weather was great right away! I am really not sharing this to show anything off since this was a simple and short trip but I just hope to send you some positive energy with that. And also to let you know, that even a small and inexpensive trip with some good people after quarantine can work wonders on your m...

>> Movie News: Jumanji - The Next Level. The Ultimate Family Adventure Movie - Go See It Now!

Image
Hey everyone! Get ready for some Movie News! Catch Jumanji: The Next Level in 3D on the big screen if you still can. We recommend it! I first saw this movie at the cinema around Christmas time with my mom and my nephew in Germany and we really enjoyed it! It is an all around family film. When you go to the movies in Germany you get this freshly made, hot, sweet overpriced popcorn which I love. In the US and Canada they only have freshly made salty popcorn. I thought I share this bit of international knowledge with you.😊 🍿 So this movie has everything! Adventure, fun, chemistry between the characters and the type of story you would expect for a sequel including the evil guy, which must be German because his name is Jürgen. Have you ever noticed that the villains in most movies are either Russian or German and the hero's are always American? That is just an observation. When I first found out there will be a Jumanji remake, I was not really up for it because I lik...

>> Summertime: Familienurlaub An Der Ostsee = Family Vacation at The Baltic Sea!

Image
beach babe :/ Hello dear readers, I am back again after a little break from my Blogger duties. This time I want to share a few impressions from our family vacation at the Baltic Sea or Ostsee (as we Germans say). Ever since I was a child we tried to go on an annual family summer vacation together. So I was there when I was like 7, 10 or 12. The baltic sea is one of the favorite summer destinations in Germany. The weather, the beach and the climate are what is most interesting about the area.   Harbour in Wismar souvenirs and postcards miniature ships - they also had ships in a bottle After a few years without a family vacation, we decided this year is a good year to bring back this tradition. We rented a bungalow only a few kilometers from the beach, which also had a garden with BBQ area. My nephew Fynn makes the best steaks, even though he is only 10. :) So the most important thing for us, was spending time together. As we get older, we somet...

>> Adorable Idea: IKEA Turned Children's Drawings Into Super Cute And Unique Plush Toys!

Image
IKEA has done it once again. For their annual fundraiser ' Soft Toys For Education ', the Swedish furniture giant took some adorable monster drawings by children and turned them into real-life, touchable plush toys.  Since their first charity effort of this kind in 2003, the Ikea Foundation has donated more than $90 million to worldwide children's causes to date. The young designers behind these colorful creations, definitely put all of their imagination and heart into the original drawings. The 10 winning entries, have been brought to life by IKEA's toy designers, with much love to detail. From each plush toy sold, Ikea will donate 1 Euro to Children's education projects via UNICEF and Save The Children .   all images  ©   IKEA

>> The Art Of Play: An Evening Of Family Fun - A Treasure Hunt At The British Museum!

Image
'So much treasure to hunt - so little time!' This is what the participants of the first THATMuse : Treasure Hunt at the British Museum on Friday, September 11th must have thought. In groups of 2-4, it was their task to find as many pieces from a list of 'wanted treasures' as possible, within a given amount of time. They then had to take a photo of their teammates in front of it. The group with the most items captured, won the main prize, provided by the museum. The sold-out event titled: 'The Art of Play' , was the UK premiere of a concept that we think is a clever idea, not only for families but also for friends who want to add some action to their museums visit!    It all started in April 2012, when native New Yorker Daisy de Plume thought of a way, to make a visit to the Louvre in her new hometown of choice  Paris , even more interesting and engaging for the whole family. With an art background and a degree in art history, she inv...
