Even though, I live in London since several years now, I still frequently come across places I have never seen or heard of before. Like this one - the London Mithraeum. Right next to Cannon street tube station. T his place was recommended to me and an exhibition called ' Born From Stone' is currently on display. 'St. Pancras Lock' near Camden Town Hello lovely readers! How about some local content on this London based News blog? Sounds like a good idea? Yeah, we thought so too! So last week, we went on a trip to Camden Town. Easily reachable with the Northern Line , this borough is mostly famous for its talented songstress Amy Winehouse as well as many live music offering pubs and the local market, called Camden Lock . Over at Londonist.com we have found an interesting article, on how the boroughs got their names. Here an example from the site: Camden : ' Both the borough and Camden Town are named after Charles Pratt, 1st Earl of Camden, who owned land here in the late 18th century. Camden Place was his seat in Kent, itself named after William Camden who lived in the property from 1609.'
