Hello everybody and welcome back to the most stylish blog out there. Is this quite the scandal or what?!  A German court has ruled that Birkenstock shoes do not qualify as works of art. The company had sought to have its footwear recognized as artwork to obtain stronger copyright protections. However, the court determined that Birkenstock's designs lacked sufficient individuality, stating that 'pure craftsmanship' alone was not enough. You can read all about it here . 'Birkenstock shoes are traditionally made in Germany. The company has a long history, dating back to 1774 and its manufacturing operations are based in Germany. While they may source some materials from other countries, the majority of the production, including the iconic footbeds, is done in their factories there. Hello everybody, Welcome back. I am currently going through some of my London things and I found this map of the V&A museum. I think it is the 2023 version. I like it! There are quite a few museums and galleries in London, many of them free to visit. When I go to a museum, I find that getting an audio guide can be really helpful. You learn so much more about the things on display, that way. I get the English one. I remember doing this during my NYC years as well. The biggest highlight from that time which I still hold in mind, was when my parents came to visit. From my small town in Germany to NYC. We went to The  Metropolitan Museum of Art  together as part of our sightseeing program. We saw a real Picasso painting. It was absolutely surreal. I am grateful for this kind of memories. Why I was there in the first place, brings us right back to creativity.

Hello dear readers, I have heard that investing in art can pay off big time later, so I finally made the investment. Without any adviser or consultant, I went straight for the purchase. The vibrant colors and the determination on the face of the subject immediately convinced me. I was sure this was a strategically smart move. We LOVE our planet, nature and the wild but you may have already noticed that while browsing this blog. Somebody who also loves nature and obviously all things floral, is the artist behind this cool idea. His name is Nicolai Tolstyh and today is a good day to discover his work, for example on instagram . This self described journalist, bibliophile, art lover and natural craftsman is based in Russia. If you take a look at his fine and very detailed cutouts, and the final photo result, you can see he is taking the time to find the right match in the background, for the theme of each silhouette individually. All his captions are in Russian and we would be able to tell you more about this artist, if only we would have paid just a little more attention to Russian class back in the day. However. If you are fascinated by all things nature and animals , there is 1 person who is successfully blending both elements. We are talking about talented 24 year old digital mixed media artist Andreas Lie . Based in Bergen, Norway, he is a photoshop whiz with a lot of ability. Stunning results - as you can simply see when looking at these few examples of his work. Working with glass is a highly sensitive process. You must know 100% what you are doing. Florida-based glass artist Robert Mickelsen is a master of his craft. After only 1 year at college he became and lampmaker and most of his skills are self taught. He says: 'The objects I create are narratives, personal vignettes that reveal the secrets of my innermost thoughts.'  Glassblowing is a glass forming technique that involves inflating molten glass into a bubble, with the help of a blowpipe. John Lopez , is a South Dakota-based sculptor with a love for all things wild, wild west ! Old metal, that other people throw away, he is using to create beautiful art. John's website describes, how he has ' found a way to merge two art forms into a new hybrid sculpture of everyday objects mixed with limited edition bronze castings'.  Lopez , who grew up on a ranch, was already a successful bronze sculptor, when he started experimenting with iron out of necessity. Influenced by his up-bringing he created these amazing life-sized sculptures. John has definitely made a name for himself in the art world, as his work is spread across the US. Imagination + every day life = street art. We ❤ it and feature it on this Blog as much as we can. Today, we want to show you the eclectic expressions of French street artist Oak Oak . His website states, that 'his work consists essentially in finding the imperfections in the streets or on the walls and try to play with them.' Oak Oak was born in Saint Etienne , but his work can basically pop up anywhere. Check out that pizza grabbing turtle! So far, he has graced the streets of England, Italy, Thailand, China and France with his talent. Check out his website and the book with images of his projects as well. The creative output of 'entertainer' Benedetto Bufalino has caught our att ention! This former car, has been transformed into something very useful on a hot summer day: Cool down and get comfortable in the Seat Ibiza Jacuzzi ! The interior has been completely removed and was replaced by a pool insert. We assume, you can still roll it around to find the perfect location to park it. The Seat jacuzzi project, is not the only exciting and interesting creation by Benedetto. He has also managed, to lift a mobile home up into the sky , as you can see on the picture above. Surreal! As you probably know by now, we have recently joined Instagram . :) By scrolling through recommendations, we have found talented artist Justina Blakeney . Her account is full of color, creation and flowers - so naturally we had to click the FOLLOW button! Under the hashtag #FaceTheFoliage , Justina created faces out of leaves and flowers. We like to think we can spot a talented artist when we see one! Or better yet - when we see his or her work. Today, our spotlight is on Alice X. Zhang . What we have gathered from her various social media accounts so far, is that she is a freelance designer & illustrator and portrait artist that is based in the US.
