>> Travel News: Viva España! Come With Me On A City Trip To Madrid!

Image
Hello again, dear readers! Long time no see. I want to know what you have been up to! Do you want to know what I have been up to? Lately I have been traveling around quite a bit and now I want to share some of my impressions of the capital of Spain with you. ⛱ With its about 3.3 million inhabitants, Madrid is the third biggest city in the EU after London and Berlin. With countless parks and many museums filled with European art, there is a lot to see!  This is a nice palm tree which gave me vacation feels! 😎 Madrid is a vibrant city with the majority of people being as nocturnal as I am. 😊 Really, they are very night active. After siesta, the calm afternoon hours, they are eating a late dinner around 8 pm and staying up pretty much all night in one of the bars or restaurants of the city. While you are there, you could try tapas or paella, some of the national dishes of Spain. Or a  bocadillo de calamares, see below: One of the fountains at Ret...

>> The Quest For The Absolute By Benoit Lapray: Thoughtful Superheroes Reflecting On Life!

Image
This is a genius idea. Take the superhero out of the dangerous situations, the crowded battlefields and away from the evil super villain just to put him somewhere nice, a place in nature where it is peaceful, calm and quiet. This way our hero can reflect on his own life, far away from the trouble, he can think about his future, childhood, his upcoming lunch and maybe also all of his accomplishments so far.  French photographer Benoit Lapray named his project  The Quest for the Absolute .  This in itself could be the title for a new super hero action adventure - of course in 3D ! Here is a part of the description behind the idea: ' [Benoit]  captures and freezes the moment during which the famous vigilantes are not in the action and presents them here as lonely beings who wander in nearly deserted landscapes.' There will be a Vernissage of his work in December in Paris .  For more information and the option to order a limited edition print of...

>> Beautiful Sight: Cutout Silhouettes - Filled With The Color And Vitality Of Nature!

Image
We LOVE our planet, nature and the wild but you may have already noticed that while browsing this blog. Somebody who also loves nature and obviously all things floral, is the artist behind this cool idea. His name is Nicolai Tolstyh and today is a good day to discover his work, for example on instagram . This self described journalist, bibliophile, art lover and natural craftsman is based in Russia. If you take a look at his fine and very detailed cutouts, and the final photo result, you can see he is taking the time to find the right match in the background, for the theme of each silhouette individually. All his captions are in Russian and we would be able to tell you more about this artist, if only we would have paid just a little more attention to Russian class back in the day. However. Inspiring idea! all artwork  ©  Nicolai Tolstyh

He will straight up remind you that ' Nature doesn't need people.. but people need nature - to survive.' (which is absolutely true) Mother Earth also wants to have a word with you.. The 'Nature Is Speaking' campaign was able to secure some Hollywood A-Listers for the good cause. >> Great Concept: Discover The CasaBubble

Image
Enough of neglecting our beloved BLOG: We're back! Make nature YOUR living room .. Spend a night under the stars.. Be 'within and without' just like Toby Maguire in 'The Great Gatsby'. :) Ever since we have found out about its existence, we are big fans of the CasaBubble . What it is, is basically a tent in form of a bubble, but made out of transparent material in a round shape. This is how we would describe it.  Envisioned by French designers Frédéric Richard and Pierre-Stéphane Dumas , they share the following information on their website : 'A virtually roofless Bubble is inflated by a special turbine which keeps it in shape, renews the air and eliminates pollen, humidity and condensation problems. Inside, the air is fresh and filtered , there are no mosquitoes and the acoustics are particularly soothing.' Say no more, we are sold on it already! The CasaBubbles come in different shapes and sizes and can be interconnected with eac...

>> New: Become A Tree Expert With This App!

Image
Have you ever been on a relaxing walk through nature with somebody and just when you wanted to shine with knowledge about the trees around you, you got all confused about which is which? Don't worry that won't happen again, because as with almost all things - there is now an APP for that ! The Natural History Museum has launched Leafsnap UK , which will identify the forest in front of you. The cool thing about it, is that you can scan a leaf of the tree that has sparked your curiosity, to find out which type it is. Also, by uploading your pic, the image and its geographical location will be added to the Leafsnap database for use by scientists, researching the tree population of Britain, helping to find out which species are found where. Sounds very innovative! Find the app HERE . (all photos © The Trustees of the Natural History Museum )
