These photographs are truly amazing. The USGS Native Bee Inventory and Monitoring Program designs and develops large and small scale surveys for native bees. Brooke Alexander, Sue Boo, Heagan Ahmed and Sierra Williams are the photographers behind these stunning images, in the name of research. For a full gallery click HERE.


There are nearly 20,000 known species of bees. To get this close to them, a system was used, which was originally developed by the US army.
