Hello everybody and welcome back to the most stylish blog out there. Is this quite the scandal or what?! 


A German court has ruled that Birkenstock shoes do not qualify as works of art. The company had sought to have its footwear recognized as artwork to obtain stronger copyright protections. However, the court determined that Birkenstock's designs lacked sufficient individuality, stating that 'pure craftsmanship' alone was not enough. You can read all about it here.


'Birkenstock shoes are traditionally made in Germany. The company has a long history, dating back to 1774 and its manufacturing operations are based in Germany. While they may source some materials from other countries, the majority of the production, including the iconic footbeds, is done in their factories there. The brand is known for its high-quality craftsmanship and their products are considered a symbol of German engineering and comfort.'


That is obviously me on my way to the supermarket.

I believe Birkenstock offers a unique design, but they would need to be more specific about identifying which model should be the distinctive, protected one. I would say it could be the one in the picture above. Based on this ruling, they can not prevent other companies from duplicating this style, which is less than ideal for the business. It actually reminds me of the Crocs situation. By now, almost every second supermarket offers Crocs-style house shoes. 


I guess, after all, the real differentiator in shoes will always be production quality. This way, Birkenstock could be able to outperform its competitors. That is something no one can take from them. Personally, I can not say how long these shoes last, because shockingly, I never really owned a pair. Can I still keep my citizenship despite of this? =) Combined with the right pair of socks I could make a fashionable splash. 😎 I would most likely go for those:


They look rather comfy. Price point: 100€. 😱 They better last a few years.

Außerdem findet am 25sten Februar um 14 Uhr eine Kundgebung vor dem Brandenburger Tor in Berlin statt . Desto mehr Teilnehmer sich dort einfinden, desto mehr wird der Gesuch nach Verhandlungen die zu Frieden führen können, gehört. Solltest Du also gerade vor Ort sein und diese Einstellung teilen, kannst Du dich gern den anderen anschließen die ebenfalls durch Vernunft etwas bewirken wollen,  als die Krise durch weitere Waffenlieferungen immer weiter anzuheizen.
