>> Football News - In a Time of Deep Division, We Created Our Own World Cup 2026 Anthem: ๐Ÿ’š The Love of the Game ⚽️

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to your favorite blog about the World Cup 2026. ๐Ÿ† Today is a special day, because we have produced our own World Cup anthem and are ready to release it. ⚽️

A bit about our own experience with football

Football is the number one sport in Germany. ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช

When growing up, there was no way around it. Thinking about it now, there were Bundesliga (national league) matches on TV almost every day. We used to watch the World Cup together as a family. It was kind of a tradition. Sometimes it was just me and my dad if the game started late. It was and still is a very important event in Germany, with games live on TV or online. That is probably the same in many countries.

Every four years, when the World Cup came around again, there were experts discussing, former players predicting outcomes and the one main World Cup anthem being played in short clips during half-time analysis and after the games. Football was pretty much the main subject on all types of product packaging and advertising.

It was consistently something that brought people together in real life. A shared interest.

It means action, excitement and connection, nerve-racking scenes and questionable offside rulings. One year I tried rooting for another country but I just couldn't. That was an experiment. You will be rooting for your country whether you like it or not. I would say that, while I am not an obsessive football fan, I am a World Cup enthusiast. ๐Ÿ˜Š ⚽️ I like being part of the collective.

Even in light arguments about referee decisions or predictions about who was going to take home the trophy, the World Cup always fueled one thing: in-person connection. Even when two people agreed to disagree, the World Cup remained a major conversation starter. Everyone had their two cents to add.

It could be hosted on the moon and we would watch it.

No, we would not pay $1,000 for scalped tickets but we will watch it live if time zone differences permit. The evening time slots are doable. The time slots after midnight, probably not so much.

I am not that familiar with the current state of the German team but I guess they are more than ready. We will find out, when they play their first game. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

One commentator once described it well, when he said that while each player might be really good in his own right, if they have not trained enough as a team, their performance would be lacking. If you think about successful football teams, what makes them play so well? They know each other and collaborate effectively. They know how to play to each player's strengths. They are not ball hogs - they are a TEAM. So when we were not that good, there was probably not enough training in the new team constellation. ALLEGEDLY.

Also, if you think about the past successes of the German team, logically, you cannot always stay on top. There are ebbs and flows over the years, just as with every other team. Past strength does not guarantee future success. Yet, we remain hopeful.

I was living in London when Germany won the World Cup in 2014. Yay!!! ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ ๐ŸŽ‰

Remember the headline-making 7-1 victory over Brazil in the semifinal, one of the most shocking results in World Cup history! Football is so unpredictable that way..

In 2018, when I was working as an Office Manager in Toronto, we had a big-screen TV mounted on the wall in our open-plan office and company leadership was relaxed enough to let us watch the games if one was taking place during office hours. I mean, times have changed but I’m not sure that back then - or now - something like this would have been allowed in an office in Germany.

I’m sharing this particular memory with you because we watched the Germany–South Korea game live in the office, which took place in the morning.

We were on our laptops but a few people stood next to the screen. Then Germany got kicked out of the World Cup by South Korea and we all witnessed it together in real time. Nooo!!! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

And what in the world did the one German in the office have to say to that?!

I collected a few expressions of sympathy and after that we all went to lunch together as a group. We sat down at a big table in a food court, something we would usually never do unless we happened to be having lunch in the office at the same time. People all looked a bit downcast, I guess as a way of expressing compassion. That day, my colleagues showed me a huge amount of support and kindness that I had not expected. ๐Ÿ’š

They also wanted some sort of response from me regarding that outcome.

Yes, I was down about Germany being out, but I was also moved by my colleagues and their camaraderie. So my response was: "Well, the best team should win - and it was not us." ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿผ‍♀️ What a diplomatic solution, right?

Just one more situation in which football brought people together.

Things like hobbies, sports and clubs are something we should never, ever abandon. Human connection is one of the most valuable things we have in life. Let no screen or app try to convince you otherwise.

Strangely enough I have barely any recollection of the World Cup 2022.. ๐Ÿค” I am pretty sure it took place because I googled it. It was during winter?! Ok.

Back to the present. World Cup 2026 coming right up!

The 2026 FIFA World Cup (USA, Canada, Mexico) is the first time in history that the tournament will be hosted by three countries at the same time. It also expands to 48 teams instead of 32. Additionally, FIFA has announced a World Cup Final halftime show?! Honestly, we just want to see the game. It's the final!!

We do not know how this World Cup will turn out but we are looking forward to some adrenaline-inducing matches. We hope that everyone will stay safe during the games and that the excitement and passion for this sport will once again bring people of all nations together, reminding them that only real-life experiences create genuine and lasting memories and that we have more in common than we think. Deutschland – auf geht’s! ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช

Now the wait is finally over:

Here is our World Cup Anthem 2026.

๐Ÿ”ˆ Sound up and full screen. Enjoy! ✨
