Personally, I feel like the best new music is coming from Europe and Australia these days. Fresh, creative and most importantly, real. As you know I have spent most of the last five years in London but it took me until now, to hear of this talented singer/songwriter.

Finn Askew (born 2001) is an English singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist from Wellington, Somerset. His music incorporates elements of alternative R&B, indie, pop, rock and hip-hop.
Askew began making music as a teenager, recording songs at home using GarageBand. He gained international attention with “Roses”, a song he wrote and recorded at the age of 16.
The track became particularly popular in Asia after being shared by NCT's Taeyong and later BTS's Jungkook, helping Askew build an international following despite remaining relatively little known in the UK.
He signed with Polydor Records while still a teenager, releasing his debut EP Peach in 2021, followed later that year by Tokyo. He subsequently released music through other labels and label arrangements, including Elektra and Atlantic, as well as more independent releases.
Askew is known for a genre-blending approach to songwriting and production. His music has evolved considerably since “Roses”, moving between bedroom-pop, alternative R&B, rock and hip-hop.
Although he has accumulated tens of millions of streams and received recognition from internationally prominent artists, Askew remains more of a niche/international streaming artist than a mainstream household name in Britain.
His career is notable for the unusual way his audience developed: he achieved significant recognition internationally, particularly in parts of Asia, before becoming known in his home country.

P.S. This song was released only one week ago - this time we are really on it!! So many years now, mainstream media promoted literally anybody who was well-connected. We don't.
You have to be actually talented to end up on this platform and Finn definitely qualifies. 😎
He is obviously going to become a household name after this.
