I Break The News

We LOVE our planet, nature and the wild but you may have already noticed that while browsing this blog. Somebody who also loves nature and obviously all things floral, is the artist behind this cool idea. His name is Nicolai Tolstyh and today is a good day to discover his work, for example on instagram . This self described journalist, bibliophile, art lover and natural craftsman is based in Russia. If you take a look at his fine and very detailed cutouts, and the final photo result, you can see he is taking the time to find the right match in the background, for the theme of each silhouette individually. All his captions are in Russian and we would be able to tell you more about this artist, if only we would have paid just a little more attention to Russian class back in the day. However. Bakhrushin State Central Theatre Museum, Moscow 'Russian Avant-Garde Theatre: War, Revolution & Design ' is the name of an exhibition, that is currently on display at the V&A in London. From 18.10.2014 until 25.01.2015, you have the opportunity to see more than 150 radical designs for theatrical productions by well-known figures of the Russian avant-garde. All the pieces, have been created between 1913 and 1933, an important time for Russian theatre. The majority of these designs, are being seen for the first time in the UK. Ok, ok we have to admit we are not exactly breaking those news. About 4 weeks ago something spectacular happened.. You will never guess it - it is almost unreal ! You have to see the video. During the Sochi 2014 Olympics launch in Russia, the Olympic Fire which came all the way from Greece, was given from the Russian President to a few well known athletes to carry it on, when the impossible happened - THE FIRE WENT OUT!! Ever the showman ex-olympian Schawarsch Karapetjan is still waving to the excited crowd when the fire.. IS NO MORE. Good thing, a friendly helper near by had a lighter on hand. Classic. :DDD = Day, Year, EVENT SAVED .
